Bringing a new dimension to the long wheelbase Transporter Camper Van.

Known as the Vanagon in North America, the Volkswagen Transporter was one of the most readily recognizable vans worldwide, mostly for its unique Camper model that used a pop-up roof for sleeping quarters.

Now a British company, Overlander Motorhomes Ltd., is making its modular exterior even more modular with the creation of the DoubleBack – which the company says is literally bringing a new dimension to the long wheelbase Transporter Camper Van.

It has the elevating roof with fold out bed, kitchenette and the seating arrangements of the Transporter (either front captain’s chairs or bench seat), with a retractable pod that extends electrically in about 45 seconds with space for a double bed (and deployable legs to support up to 600 kg).
