If you’ve ever been stuck on the side of the road in the dead of winter trying to change a flat tire, you know it’s basically one of the worst things ever. Now imagine being stuck on the side of the road in the middle of winter with a flat tire and not even having a spare with which to replace it. A recent email came across my Outlook from a disgruntled vehicle owner who recently bought a vehicle with which he/she (I’ll use he, just to cut down on the word count) was extremely pleased.

True to Canadian ideals

Auto shows in Canada are almost anti-climatic for journalists because we’ve mostly seen all the stuff on display at other major shows either earlier in the year or in previous years.

And it doesn’t help that bonehead manoeuvres from the companies serve to almost keep the Canadian shows from rising to prominence – this year, it was the introduction of the Ford Edge in Chicago a day before the Toronto show’s media day. Last year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit left a lot to be desired. Sure it had everybody saying all the right things – “We know it’s not going to turn around overnight” … “Everybody is feeling the pinch” … “We hope to come out of this strong” – but there wasn’t that buzz from past years.
