The CFL said on Sunday it will be reviewing the nasty hit that Alouettes linebacker Rod Davis delivered on Bombers quarterback Alex Brink during the fourth quarter of Friday’s game.
Davis popped Brink hard with a helmet-to-helmet hit, but no penalty flag was thrown on the play and the Bomber quarterback popped right up. At least Davis felt bad afterwards.
“I don’t play the game to injure anybody. I play hard and fast,” Davis told The Gazette after the game. “Some will say it was this or that, but I haven’t a chance to look at the film. I’m blessed he was able to get up and finished the game. I’m just happy he got up.”
Those are the kind of hits that have to be removed from the game, so Davis should face a stiff penalty. He should be suspended for at least one game.
