How many games should Davis get?

- August 5th, 2012

The CFL said on Sunday it will be reviewing the nasty hit that Alouettes linebacker Rod Davis delivered on Bombers quarterback Alex Brink during the fourth quarter of Friday’s game.

Davis popped Brink hard with a helmet-to-helmet hit, but no penalty flag was thrown on the play and the Bomber quarterback popped right up. At least Davis felt bad afterwards.

“I don’t play the game to injure anybody. I play hard and fast,” Davis told The Gazette after the game. “Some will say it was this or that, but I haven’t a chance to look at the film. I’m blessed he was able to get up and finished the game. I’m just happy he got up.”

Those are the kind of hits that have to be removed from the game, so Davis should face a stiff penalty. He should be suspended for at least one game.

What do you think?

Fining the player is a must but the CFL should also fine the referee who was standing behind the play and watched it and did not throw his flag. The CFL needs to send a message to the referees to start masking play calling more consistent across the board.

A fine if anything. Likely no suspension

    None….
    Fined yes but not suspended
