There wasn’t much happening on a quiet Saturday in December, but then Sportsnet’s Arash Madani, the former Bomber PR man, tweeted that Winnipeg cornerback Jovon Johnson had a new agent (Darren Gill) and an NFL tryout lined up.

So I got in touch with Johnson, the CFL’s most outstanding defensive player this season, and he played down the news, saying any tryout with an NFL team was just talk. Gill, however, said Johnson does have a workout lined up, but he wouldn’t say which team because it hadn’t happened yet and things can change in a hurry.
