By now, book lovers have probably read somewhere that there will be no winner for the Pulitzer prize in fiction. It’s been deemed that there aren’t any novels worthy of the prize.

Publishers Weekly has a story on their site about whether the Pulitzer means more book sales.

I think anytime you win an award or you get some sort of media buzz, it has to help. For me, it’s an awareness thing. Perhaps I don’t want to read that award-winning book because I’m not into that genre. But if the author wins a high profile award, chances are this isn’t his or hers only good book. So I check out their other novels hoping to find one that might appeal to me more.
