RIP Levon Helm (1940-2012). You were one of the v. great ones.

“Levon Helm passed peacefully this afternoon. He was surrounded by family, friends and band mates and will be remembered by all he touched as a brilliant musician and a beautiful soul.”

I have been thinking about Levon Helm off & on during the day, how sweet & funny he was during our interview with him before Bluesfest 2001  . . . & the joyful intense drummerphoto LFP photo ace Ken Wightman took of Levon on that night.
