JBNBlog, meet the London Eight. Happy to do so.

- February 17th, 2012

A visit to London artist Ray Hassan during the week led to meeting one-fourth of a newish group of London artists, the London Eight . . . or London 8. Thinking back to the super car produced here in the 1920s, the London Six, JBNBlog is going to spell it out as London Eight.

Ray is an 8- baller. Another member of the great Eight, Rob Doelle, dropped by & he exchanged some talk with Ray about their next group exhibition. There will be self-portraits by each 8-man. Ray & Rob said they have been working on theirs. They will also produce London-themed scenes.

Going by an e-mail list the other six of the Eight are: Mike Everett, Bryan Jesney, Darcy (also seen as D’arcy) Balfour, Brian Dirks, Dan Tamborro and Jack Winn.

Later, Ray sent along an e-mail which is too kind about me, but gives a good idea of the group’s poise & purpose. JBNBlog would be honoured to pose with such gr8 London talents. More details of their next 8hibition when it’s confirmed. Maybe in May in all likelihood. At the Arts Project, home of the hits.

Now, over to Ray Hassan:

James Reaney star reporter of London’s culture scene is introduced to painters. Eight painters.
This is the London 8. A group of fever pitch London artists. Painters
This is a invite for you to visit and meet the London Eight at our upcoming exhibition at The Arts Project.
We are putting up a “Wow” exhibition in London Ontario. Title forthcoming.
You don’t have to review this work in a News feature unless you are overcome with excitement.
Ray.
Note. We want a picture of you with the London 8.
