Allen Family Reunion

The Allen Family Reunion comprise Joe Allen – banjo & trumpet (left); John P. Allen – fiddle, mandolin, vocals; Julie Allen — bass, vocals; Beverly “Bev” Allen – autoharp, guitar, vocals; & Paul Allen Hickling – guitar, vocals.

JBNBlog will do his best to sort out the family ties in the Allen Family Reunion . . . but make sure you see them at Home County Music & Art fest this weekend. Sunday at noon. They will play some gospel & some Prairie Oyster & it will be sweet.

Joe Allen & Julie Allen are twins . . . pretty sure from my notes, Bev is John’s daughter & Paul is Julie’s son . . . have I got that right? Keeping the autoharp in tune is much easier these days, John P. says, who recalls touring with Bruce Good (& the Good Brothers) back in the day & the autoharp demanding a lot of Bruce’s time before each gig.

JBNBlog likes this photo, taken “very candidly” earlier this year at  the New Sarum Diner. Tasty!

    Hi
My name is Tammy and I’m doing research into my Allen Family Tree. My Grandfather Edward was an Allen and had a cousin, Francis Moore Allen that imgriated to Canada with my grandfather, siblings, aunts and other cousins from England in 1913. Francis Moore Allen along with his parents and 2 sisters travelled as far as Winnipeg, Mantioba and we are led to believe that this Allen Family maybe Francis Moore Allen’s grandchildren. I would like to verify this and hope you can help me in contacting this Allen Family.
    Thank for your time!
    Tammy Steele
