Woodstock actor Kevin Zegers is v. good in the CBC-TV series Titanic: Blood & Steel, which is on Wednesdays, 9 p.m. JBNBlog does not believe Kevin has spoken to The Free Press since he moved on from the Air Bud movies . . . maybe our QMI colleagues at the Woodstock S-R will get an interview. The Zegers character is a brilliant young metallurgist concerned about the steel the Titanic builders have been buying as the huge ship is constructed over three years starting c. 1909. Yes, it’s fictionalized . . . but our sepulchral Sherwood Forest TV club finds it pretty damn (ahem) riveting.

Zegers looks & sounds terrific & his cap-wearing character is pursued by or in pursuit of all the attractive women in the series, including an NY Times reporter played by Neve Campbell, the Italian co-worker seen here & a bored Belfast rich young lady. Nice work if you can get it.

Here’s my question for Kevin Z if we ever talk . . . did you get to do any of the filming in Serbia, where some of the series was supposedly shot?

Followup question: Did you feel the presence of JBNBlog’s Belfast ancestors, some of whom are said to have worked in the shipyards while Titanic was being built . . . & did you see the wee lass, my grandmother Alice Pryce, looking through the gates to see her older brothers?

*An occasional series (with a derivative title — Who knows where it came from?) devoted to what’s on TV channels available in northwest London on the old over-the-air, bunny ears basis — ie. TVO, CBC French, CBC, CTV Two (aka CFPL), CTV, Citytv, the Omnis, CTS & CHCH.
