In this undated photo, legendary London punk rock band NFG rawks a gig with lead singer Scott Bentley aka Steven R. Stunning at the mic in cowboy hat and shades. NFG’s 2012 edition is to play the Graphic Underground show at Call the Office on Oct. 27, which could well be the band’s second show since 1979. Or not. Who has the accurate count? Details, pls. The photo appeared in Rumbleskunk Fanzine.

The demise of APK Live (& it is rawkin all weekend) is already sending ripples around the London music scene. Maybe some of Paterson Monday’s events will wind up at the London Music Club & for sure the music night (Oct. 27) for the big Graphic Underground celebration/exhibition is going to Call the Office.

Here are a couple of notes, the first from Brian Lambert. On rawk, everybody.

From Brian Lambert via e-mail:

Hey James. Just a heads up on the concert. Apk has closed and we have moved the concert to Call the Office on Saturday, Oct 27. The opening for the exhibition remains on the Friday night (26th) at Forest City Gallery. Hope to see you there. B

An earlier note on Facebook from Pam Hanington . . . (who has posted as the event moved downstairs in APK Live (the Yuk Yuk’s/Second City site might have too much not to laugh about going on whatever it is now) . . .  The move was totally out of our control and we’re just so happy that all 4 bands can still participate in this event!! Uranus, The Zellots, NFG and The Enemas will all be playing that night!

The opening of the art exhibit at Forest City Gallery will still be on Friday Oct 26th.

What Wave #24, a history/family tree of the London scene will be available both nights.

    James:
The next 2 editions of Radio WW (thursdays 6PM on CHRW) we will only be playing local combos from the 1977 to 1990 era to help celebrate the upcoming Graphics Underground London Show.

And we’ll be doing a special radio show on Tuesday Oct 23rd, 3:30 to 6PM (taking over The History of Us radio show) and bringing in some of the members of the bands that will be playing at Call The Office on Saturday Oct 27th. And we’ll be playing the cassette that comes with WW 24, it’s 27 London bands, almost all unreleased material.

    Hello James

Sorry this is three months late, but I just stumbled upon it. As per the photo details you asked about, this was taken at HB Beal Secondary School in 1979, and the photographer is Doug Van Hemessen.

    Cheers

No worries & thanks indeed, Chris . . . wow, 1979 & NFG has the Union Jack going. Good for Beal for having such a rawkin show.

Now of course NFG plays just about everywhere on every week (a joke, a joke) . . .which only proves if you wait about 30 years, the world does catch up with you.

    Thanks again & write anytime
