JBNBlog has been a fan of Yuri Pool since it turned out Yuri had wound up living in an old apartment on Central Ave. where we had once lived about 30 years before . . . when I first saw Yuri’s name, I thought it was made up.
Of course it isn’t & it has been a pleasure to follow the London Beatles expert in recent years.
Yuri is back with a new band, still devoted to the music of Sir Paul . . . but one in keeping with the previous lineup which set the bar v. high when it came to London tribute acts.
Here’s an edited version of Yuri’s note introducing his new band. Looking good, JBNBlog must say.
It’s my pleasure to introduce to you the new band! They are:
David Usselman: guitar, bass
Braden DeCooman: guitar
Darryl Lahteenmaa: keyboard, synth
Karen Bell: persussion, keys
Aaron Gueverra: drums
And… obviously myself on bass, piano and guitar!
Rehearsals are going well . . . In November, we are going to be back on stage and kick off with a concert in Sarnia on November 24, then London (Aeolian Hall) on November 30. Tickets for both shows are going on sale next week.
The McCartney Years has seen a significant change from what it was before. I am currently preparing the band for a national tour and US dates late 2013 and early 2014. To play to an ever wider audience, The McCartney Years is shifting to a look that closely resembles McCartney’s concerts of the mid 70′s, including the clothing! In fact, I will be wearing McCartney’s concert outfit he wore during ‘Wings Over America’ for our Sarnia and London shows and beyond. Not only that, but also the haircut!
