Is a ‘Fallout’ TV series coming?

- January 16th, 2013

Fallout 3

It seems that the post-apocalyptic RPG series, Fallout, may be headed for the small screen.

Eurogamer.com reported Wednesday that Bethesda Softworks, the games’ publisher, has registered a trademark for Fallout with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Under the identification field,  the application states the trademark is for “(e)ntertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world.”

The application was filed on Jan. 8, which was the same day that actor Erik Todd Dellums, who provided the voice for DJ Three Dog in Fallout 3, tweeted about an upcoming Fallout project:

And then later added in response to another Twitter user:

At the time, Eurogamer suggested it might be rumours about a new Fallout game but now it seems likely his tweets were referring to a TV show.

Although I played Fallout 3, Dellums is better known to me as drug lord Luther Mahoney on Homicide: Life on the Street and medical examiner Randall Frazier on The Wire.  So, personally, I’m hoping for a Fallout-David Simon crossover series.

But, obviously, it’s a rather slim hope.
