Post-it Note Arcade - Stop Motion Animation [HD]

“Post-it Note Arcade – Stop Motion Animation [HD].” (SCREENSHOT)

Are you an old school arcade game fan? If so, you may be interested in checking out Michael Birkin’s stop motion homage to Ms. Pac-Man and Donkey Kong.

I first came across this video on Kotaku, and was actually quite taken aback on how much it looked like the arcade games. Birken uses the appropriate sound effects and Ms. Pac-Man and Mario look quite similar to their 8-bit counterparts.  (Donkey Kong himself does not actually appear in the video.  But there are some shout-outs to other video games, such as Tetris, Super Mario Bros. and Megaman.)

The video was created using traditional stop motion photography. In other words, each of the 5,722 frames were shot separately with a still camera.  It was created in 96 days spread out over 11 months – mainly on weekends and holidays. 4,800 Post-it notes were used in the animation.

Let us know your thoughts about the video in the comments…
