Asuka Kazama from Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

If eyes had a solar plexus, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 would be a flurry to it.

Tekken is touted as one of the best-selling fighting game franchises ever.

And with the release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, it’s no wonder the King of the Iron Fist holds that title belt.

Released Sept. 14, TTT2 is the first tag fighting game released in the series in over a decade.

Oh what a decade does for console-gaming technology. There are more perks, more options and a whole new level of competition with online networks.

The game emphasizes combos, and the more shots you can string together, the better for you. If you happen to be on the receiving end of said combos, pity.

TTT2 is not for the faint of heart, as it is an extraordinarily brutal game. Hard isn’t the word for it as even on easy difficult setting I am ravaged by the end boss, Unknown.

With over 50 characters and combinations to choose from, fighters have to adapt to an incredible carousel of moves. It’s a deep game with more strategy involved than your typical Risk board game.

Outside of gameplay, continuing off the same controls as Tekken 6, TTT2 visuals are incredible. From the flashy fight arenas in Finland, Canada and Malaysia, to a stage featuring rapper Snoop Dogg.

If you get tired of getting smacked about online or even by the computer, you can always train as Combot, who makes another appearance in the game in the tutorial.
