This year’s SXSW will feature the first iTunes Festival in the US. It will take place from March 11th to 15th at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, home of Austin City Limits.
The music festival’s US debut will run for five nights and like all the previous iTunes Festivals, it will feature an incredible lineup of chart-topping performers including Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Pitbull, Keith Urban, ZEDD, Willie Nelson and others still to be announced.
The good news is that you can watch them free either live or through an on-demand video stream through the iTunes Store or via the iTunes Festival app. You can watch it on any or all of your iOS devices as well as on your Mac or PC and of course via your Apple TV.
“The iTunes Festival in London has become an incredible way for Apple to share its love of music with our customers,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “We’re excited about the incredible lineup of artists performing and SXSW is the perfect place to debut the first iTunes Festival in the US.”
The festival kicks off on Tuesday, March 11th at 6:30PM (assuming Austin time) with London Grammar, Imagine Dragons at 7:30PM and Coldplay at 9:00PM. Keith Urban wraps up the festival at 9:00PM, Saturday, March 15th.
Performances will be available for purchase and download through the iTunes Store. For more information or to get updates on the lineup, please check out www.itunes.com/festival.
