If you’re looking at picking up a new computer running Windows 8 this fall, you may want to check out Dell as it made a few of their new products available for pre-order today.

If you’re uncertain on whether to pick up an ultrabook or a tablet, the XPS 12 may be up your alley. Billed  as a convertible device, it can work as both. At first glance, it looks like a ultrabook like any other – one with a touchscreen, but when you want to switch it into tablet, you flip the screen around and fold it overtop of the keyboard, turning it into a fully functional tablet. The touchscreen’s HD display boasts 90% more pixels than the standard HD display, Dell says in a press release. It starts at $1,199.

If you have no use for a tablet, and just want a powerful ultrabook, then maybe you should look at the XPS 13. Coming out in time for the holidays, it comes equipped with the Ivy Bridge chipset which, Dell says, makes it twice as fast as previous XPS 13 models. It starts at $999.99.

But if you’re not looking to haul around a device, maybe an all-in-one PC would be more to your liking. The XPS One 27 is an all-in-one computer which features a 27-inch wide Quad HD Display, with touchscreen capabilities. Dell’s press release says the screen has 78% more pixels than a full HD display and has an articulating stand that can tilt it to a 60-degree angle to make the touchscreen more accessible. It starts at $1,599.99

Or if you want a more economical all-in-one computer, there’s an update to the Inspiron One 23, which like XPS 13 will be out for Christmas. It comes with a full HD display with a touchscreen option. It starts at the rather low price of $799.99.

Windows 8 should run on that machine. You can check out the Wikipedia page to see the minimum requirements.

The one thing about Windows 8 is that it has a lot of customization for touchscreens so obviously you wouldn’t be able to use those features. But other than that, it should be fine.
