- July 20th, 2012

MicroPlus2

For many of us USB flash drives have become part of our arsenal of tools that we use to store backup and take data on the road, so who says they can’t be flashionable? Verbatim has a series of flash drives, called Store ‘n’ Go that is not only funky and cool, they’re also reliable. So here are some quick highlights of just a few of them. Best of all, Canoe Tech Blog has teamed up with Verbatim to give you an opportunity to win one.

Clip-it USB Drive is Verbatim’s tiniest USB drive starting at under $20 retail for a 4 GB unit as we reviewed them here at CanoeTech blog. They combine the simplicity of flash storage with the actual functionality of a paperclip. In fact if you put them side-by-side right away you’ll notice it.

I like the clip-it because my son has broken many usb keys by hitting them with his knee when they are in the tower on the floor at his desk.

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Plus is my first choice- rugged exterior, attaching ring and especially the storage capacity are what appeal to me. Choice of colour is a nice thing as well.

I’ll take a Store ‘N’ Go Drive a la USB 3. 64 GB would be really nice too!
Why? I have USB 3 with nothing to really use it with yet. 64 GB ? That would be a really good back up device in the palm of my hand. What’s not to like?!

  4. Colin | July 21, 2012 at 1:54 am

I would choose the Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive Plus, because I’m always having to clean the lint and gunk out of the ends of my current USB drives. I’ve taken to putting them inside Ziplock snack bags if they are going into my courior bag, or jacket pocket. :-)

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB drive is for me. The built-in carrying ring is a plus to prevent loss.

id have to go with the Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive Plus. though USB3.0 is faster , most computers, especially at work, are only running USB 2.0. id grab the 32gb one myself, for transfering larger type files.

  7. Jacques Boucher | July 21, 2012 at 8:19 am

My preferred one is the USB 3.0 one. It’s backward compatible with 2.0 so no issues with using with the older (but still current) standard. The retractable design is convenient. It protects it and there is no issue with losing a cap!

I like the “store ‘n’ go micro USB drive plus” for the durability, reliability and size. The handy carrying ring is a bonus as well and to top it off a choice of color. What more could one want, nice work Verbatim.

  9. Dave Burkill | July 21, 2012 at 10:18 am

It would have to be the fast USB, it’s all about convenience and speed these days and it seems to fit the bill. Plus it looks kinda cool and that too is important.

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive Plus would be agreat addtion to a keychain – handy but tiny, always at the ready. The large capacity would allow for one to carry several AutoCAD files, the sizes of which can add up fast for an entire project.

USB2.0 Store ‘n’ Go Micro with a lanyard fits the bill for me. Tiny but less chance to lose it if attached to something important like keys!!

  12. JNLaw | July 21, 2012 at 2:53 pm

    USB 3.0 all the way

  13. Noel Reyes | July 21, 2012 at 5:50 pm

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro Drive is ideal for me due to its compact size. I am always losing my flash drives but with the Store ‘n’ Go attached to my keychain, it will always be available and easy to find. I like the speed of the USB 3.0, however my work and most of my home computers are still running on USB 2.0 so compatibility might be an issue.

  14. Alex Zmushka | July 21, 2012 at 7:35 pm

USB 3.0 Store ‘n’ Go would be cool to have as it is compatible with any 2.0 devices (as they say). Nice addition to my key chain. :)

  15. Jerry Dibe | July 22, 2012 at 12:27 am

The Storthed to a keychainace N Go USB 2 would be convenient to have attached to a keychain. It would always br available when needed.

USB 3.0 for the speedy file transfers… the less time spent waiting the better =)

  17. Tim Legge | July 22, 2012 at 11:08 am

USB2.0 Store ‘n’ Go Micro with a lanyard fits the bill for me. Tiny but less chance to lose it if attached to something important like keys!!

  18. Yves Tremblay | July 22, 2012 at 12:49 pm

    Hi
USB2.0 Store ‘n’ Go micro would be my first choice because if you can attach it to your keys you have less chance to lose it. I would prefer USB3.0 for it’s speed transfer rate, but my laptop does’nt have USB3.0 :-(

  19. Dana B | July 22, 2012 at 4:39 pm

I like the Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive, having it on my key ring would prevent me from leaving it someplace (like work or home) when I should have it with me.

  20. Tricia Khan | July 22, 2012 at 5:13 pm

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive Plus would be the best choice for me. I could take my music to work to listen to and keep it safe on my key ring.

  21. Mike Westbye | July 22, 2012 at 6:02 pm

Go big. I have a couple of 16G USB2 sticks which I use to transfer movies and data. I am finding them inadequate most of the time both in capacity and especially speed. USB3 and as large capacity as possible is the way to go.

  22. Yvonne Kirstein | July 23, 2012 at 7:23 am

I like the speed, retractable design and the password protection software that can be downloaded for the Store N Go 3.0.

  23. Bruce | July 23, 2012 at 12:05 pm

I would really like the USB v3.0 Store n Go 64 Gb to use with Ready Boost on my new laptop. I don’t have any USB 3.0 compatible memory sticks. This would be really nice and I would be really appreciative. Thanks.

  24. Mark Visneskie | July 23, 2012 at 12:36 pm

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive Plus would be my choice. I like the ruggedized case and think it would survive being carried in my pocket the best. Don’t have USB 3.0 yet so I would like the 2.0 version.

  25. Raymond Teno | July 24, 2012 at 7:15 am

I think that the Store ‘n’ Go V3 would be my choice. I like the hardened case and would like the 3.0 USB version. I’m sure it’s backwards compatible with my 2.0 PC as well. I don’t have a good feeling about the micro version – I’m pretty rough with my keys (chuck them on the stairs as I come in the house).

  26. Joyceln Teno | July 24, 2012 at 10:48 pm

My first choice would be a Store ‘n’ Go V3. It would come in really handy.

  27. Jason. L. | July 25, 2012 at 9:03 am

Store ‘n’ Go 64GB would be my choice. I am always maxing out my smaller drives.

  28. Quentin | July 25, 2012 at 9:40 am

I’d definitely prefer the Store n go as my first choice – seems more rugged. but as far as 3.0 vs 3.0, I would want the faster one for sure!

  29. Lee | July 25, 2012 at 11:04 am

I would have to choose the Drive Plus, as I have accidentally damaged flash drives in the past due to minor accidents, like the kidlings stepping on it. The hardened case would provide great protection against their little feet =D

As to my preference of USB types, I am more inclined towards USB 3.0 – my computer supports this newer architecture, and the increase in data transfer speeds would be great. I

  30. Johnny | July 25, 2012 at 1:40 pm

I have a couple of store’n'go and like them a lot. But those I prefer the most are the tuff’n'tiny ones. I keep those in the car with all my music libraries. No fear of damaging any of those…

As for USB 2.0 or USB 3.0, I only have USB 2.0 drives. I would love to try a v3 on my wife’s laptop – the only device we have with a USB3 port.

Thanks for those contest – they are fun to follow

    Johnny

I like the clip-it for it’s extra small size. As mentioned it doesn’t get bumped into by clumsy family members. Prefer USB 2.0
