Role playing games

Role Playing Games are more than just games. They’re alternate worlds filled with interesting characters and epic quests, from knights and wizards to starships and aliens. Here are my picks for the best Role Playing Game apps.

Final Fantasy III ($15.99 for the iPad and iPhone)

Square Enix are the masterminds behind this vastly popular series that has captured many an imagination. When darkness falls and the land is robbed of light, four youths are chosen to set forth on a journey to save the world! This turn based RPG offers a rich storyline, a large world to explore, quests to complete and offers endless hours of entertainment!

Cyberlords (Free for Android)

Citizens are terrorized by corporate security forces! You are the leader of the resistance fighting to save the world from total surveillance and have to fight for freedom. To help in your struggle you get to unlock 20 different weapons, as well as using your stealth, combat and computer hacking skills. It’s a sci-fi action adventure RPG game that has hints of Philip K Dick and George Orwell.

Pocket God ($0.99 for the iPhone, Android and Windows)

What would any deity want? To instill awe and often fear in their earth bound followers. What sort of supreme being will you make? Your followers are at your mercy, you can shock them with lightning, toss them into volcanoes and even tilt your device and watch the very world beneath their feet slide away as they hold on for dear life!

Order and Chaos Online ($6.99 for the iPhone and iPad)

This MMORPG is the next best closest thing to world of warcraft you can get in an app. The game offers four playable races and four classes to choose from. Upon customizing your character you are immediately thrown into a massive world filled with quests, loot, monsters and tons of other players!  The game controls are very intuitive and the game play is highly addictive, which you need to keep in mind as you get 3 months for free and after that, it’s pay to play.

Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden HD (Free for the iPad)

This is an RPG that packs a serious punch with its well crafted story line, stunning visuals, excellent combat sequences and fascinating world to explore.  It’s your standard good versus evil tale, with you as the hero traveling the world in search of knowledge and power to defeat evil wherever you may find it!
