‘True Love Tester’ bra decides when you’re ready for sexy time

- January 27th, 2014

So ladies, have you ever been making out with someone, but can’t tell if you should go all the way – or at least second base?

Well now you can let your bra make that decision for you. Japanese lingerie site Ravijour is advertising the True Love Tester bra, which is designed to only open for someone the wearer is in love with.

Do you know if you’re in love? This bra will tell you. (Video screenshot)

As the video below explains this smart bra connects to an app on your smartphone via Bluetooth, which monitors the woman’s heart rate. When the rate exceeds a certain value, the bra unhooks itself automatically.

Otherwise, the bra stays on – no matter how hard sleazy guys try to pull it off, tinker with the clasp on the front or bribe it with money. (I guess these scenarios occur often at clubs in Japan.)

The video appears to suggest that without this app-connected brassiere, women would be going topless all over the place thanks to the dirty hands of shady, partying businessmen.

Of course, since the bra is tied to the woman’s heart rate,  it could theoretically pop off at other times – unrelated to her sexual desire, such as while she’s, say, exercising at the gym, having a panic attack, or running away from the cops after holding up a bank…

And, although the ad doesn’t mention it, I assume there must be a trigger on the smartphone app to release the bra. Otherwise, the poor woman won’t even be able to get it off herself – and would have to wear it to bed, while showering and so forth. (That is, unless she does things on her own to get the heart racing.)

But what if the woman’s phone is stolen? Or if some guy hacks into the server and causes every True Love Tester bra in the vicinity to shoot off their owners’ bodies, like they were being controlled by a telekinetic Scott Baio in Zapped!

The True Love Tester bra is currently not for sale, but is being advertising as part of Ravijour’s Mood Up campaign. If you purchase 5,000 yen (roughly $54) worth of lingerie, either in-store or online, you are entered in a draw to try out the new product during a stay at a luxury hotel.

Why thank you decision maker bra! I don’t know how I’ve lived all these years. It’s so hard to be able to decide for myself in such important matters as when I personally am ready to engage in sexual activity! True Love Tester Bra has saved the day for millions of women who we all know could never make such decisions on their own without becoming hysterical and unsure of themselves. This along with the lady pen by Bic have saved us from so many blunders! It’s a new day for women’s rights with these helpful contraptions!! *dripping sarcasm of course*

Excellent, a bra based on heart rate that will fling open while doing an intense spin class haha

What about the panties? Doesn’t their removal contribute to the coitus process?

For the time being, there is only the bra – which, as is only available through the contest, is technically in a sort-of beta stage. When and if the bra is on sale to the public. Ravijour may release a pair smart panties too (not to be confused with smarty pants).

But I imagine it would only do so if the bra was a commercial success, which I doubt it would be as I can’t imagine many woman would purchase this bra. But I could be wrong…

How paternalistic. Isn’t this a step *backwards* for women?

And Heaven help us all when the “smart panties” are released. Wouldn’t that just be a high-tech chastity belt??
