Swann, a company known for providing security monitoring solutions has gone beyond just using cameras for surveillance. They’ve just released Bolt HD, a new high-definition camera that’s both waterproof and wearable, making it ideal for shooting video whether you’re skydiving, motocross racing, surfing, scuba diving or just running in the rain.

Bolt HD can capture full 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second in real time as well as snap 12-megapixel still images. To ensure the camera captures what you want while you might be looking somewhere else, it has a built-in laser pointer that confirms what its 135° angle lens is actually seeing.

Its powered by rechargeable lithium-ion battery and can store roughly 10 hours of video on a removable microSD card (up to 32GB). Bolt HD also comes and with a number of wearable mounts that includes a flat surface mount, a curved surface mount for challenging positions and of course, a helmet mount. It also has a built-in stereo microphone, a wireless remote control and a built-in mini HDMI connector to allow you to connect and watch your video directly to your TV.

Swann is offering aggressive pricing for a video camera that offer these types of features. Bolt HD retails for $199 and is available through your favourite Swann retailer or Swann’s website.

Tried to find on their sight but does not seem to be available as yet. Has it been released as yet?
Looks like an all round good gadget.
    Cheers

Tony, thanks for chiming in. The info I received was prior to official release. I’m just checking in with their PR folks for an update. For now, there is a little more info on their US site. http://swann.com/s/products/view/?product=1440
