Quick Hit: ECBC B7 super durable ballistic nylon cases

ECBC

Time for a new carry bag? Who says rugged and ultra durable cases can’t be sleek, sophisticated and practical?  ECBC has introduced the B7 Series of daypacks, messenger bags and totes that fit all 3 of these criteria and make sense for all things we tend to carry around these days.

All of the cases are made of rugged High Density Ballistic Nylon that feature the 210D Double Diamond Rip-Stop. If you’re wondering what that is, I wondered too!  It’s referring to the tan interior lining material – you know the stuff that always tears prematurely? Apparently, the 210D is much more tear resistant than the 70D used in many other bags. The latter is  probably what I have in mine so it’s time for something new.

The 3 new B7 Daypacks are the Harpoon, Javelin and the Lance ($99.99-$149.99). Available in three sizes and multiple colours, all B7 backpacks protect up to a 17-inch laptop with a high density foam compartment. They feature a padded tablet pocket, dual zip-away water bottle pockets, water resistant YKK zippers, foam-padded shoulder straps and top handles. There are also other pockets for managing your cables, accessories and papers.

The B7 Messenger Bags, the Trident ($119.99), designed for laptops up to 15″ and the Tomahawk ($139.99), for a 17″ laptop,  feature YKK RC (Racket Coil) zippers that can take a little more abuse than regular zippers and are resistant to water and abrasion, something these types of bags always seem to come up against. They’re equipped with a foldout FastPass laptop compartment, enabling speedy security checks as well as a luggage trolley pass-through handle, top zipper for quick access and a front ticket/passport pocket for when you need to get at them quickly.

The B7 Totes, the Dart ($79.99) and Spear ($99.99) are designed for 13″ and 15″-17″ laptops respectively. They have nylon-webbed carry handles, padded interiors, fleece-lined laptop compartments as well as a luggage pass-thru handle. They also feature modular foam blocks, an iPad pocket and zippered pocket for chargers and accesories.

My needs seem to depend on what I’m doing and where I’m going. The hardest choice is to decide which one  is the best to do it all!

The B7 series are available directly from the ECBC website.
