The news of the iPhone 5 and the latest generation of iPods is not even cold and rumors of the iPad mini are already running amok. We’re seeing drawings, pictures and even inventory lists showing line items of iPad mini accessories and SKUs with a myriad of iPad mini configurations. The general consensus seems to be that it will have a 7.85-inch non-retina display, an A5 chip, although which version seems to be up for grabs and a launch date of October 23rd.

PCMag reported today that the iPad mini’s pricing had supposedly been leaked by a German blogger, who posted  a screen shot of the iPad Mini price list on his site. It showed 16 different configurations ranging from 8GB black and white models with Wi-Fi to 64GB models with Wi-Fi & “cellular”. The inclusion of cellular models, obviously referring to 3G is quite the opposite to other reports of the new offering as being Wi-Fi only.  Of course, that’s why they are just rumours. The leaked price list indicated prices ranging from 249 to 649 euros ($315-$825CAD). Prices are typically higher in Europe but the North American rumour mill is pegging entry level unit pricing between $250-$300.

TechRadar’s video team grabbed all the rumors and created a 3-D rendering of what a much-anticipated mini would look like. They concur with the screen size and processor. They also expect two cameras, front and rear, the new lightning dock connector as found on the iPhone 5, and no retina display.

MacWorld UK  showed a so-called picture of some of the mini’s inner wiring as well as shared comments from an analyst who said the mini is now in full production and expects Apple to sell 8 million tablets in its first quarter.

AllThingsD tells us that the release date of October 23rd is just days before the expected release date of Microsoft’s Surface Tablet (October 26th) and 2 days before Apple’s latest quarter earnings report. They were also the same folks who said the media would get invites October 10th.

It all seems so juicy, but at this point, as it always is with Apple, it’s all just speculation. It will happen when it happens.
