Watch Apple Event live online or on Apple TV

- October 23rd, 2012

iPadMiniEvent

If you are a big fan of Apple Events, of course you know I am, you might be pleasantly surprised that you’ll be able to catch today’s keynote live online and even through your Apple TV if you’re at home and have one handy. It starts today at 10AM PDT (1PM ET).

The little thing that Apple has on its plate to unveil is likely the much anticipated iPad mini. (See a previous post  here at Canoe TechBlog on iPad mini rumours for a quick look at what we think might be rolled out)

In addition, it’s possible we may see a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and possible some new Mac Mini models.

It’s rare that Apple streams the events live. The last time they had a live stream was over 2 years ago when Steve Jobs took the stage and unveiled the new iPods of the day, iTunes 10 and the second generation Apple TV, among other things. Chris Martin from Coldplay wrapped up the event with a few tunes – even one never before released.

It doesn’t appear that everyone will be able to view the event. From the specs on Apple site, it will run only on Safari 4 running Mac OS X 10.6 or better, Safari on iOS 4.2 or better and 2nd gen Apple TV or later running 5.2.  There’s no mention of availability for Windows users, but one never knows.

I’ll be watching the event and tweeting as the suspense unfolds.
