Apple’s Countdown to 25 Billion Apps recently ended with the milestone-reaching download happily performed by Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China. For his efforts, Chunli will take home a $10,000 US iTunes Gift Card.

The 25 billionth app downloaded was the free version of Where’s My Water?”, a Disney produced game designed for iPhone and iPad that challenges the player with physics-based puzzles.

The premise of the game is to help Swampy, a cute and friendly alligator who is truly unlike any other alligator, guide water to his shower.  You see, he likes to take showers but the other nasty alligators are determined to sees that he stays dirty. They’ve wreaked havoc on his plumbing and they are trying to keep the water from flowing to his shower.

The game, full of eye appealing graphics, intuitive controls and a toe-stepping soundtrack, will test your problem solving skills. You’ll need to be aware and keep your eyes open for algae, toxic ooze, triggers and traps that can keep you from being successful – i.e. to get Swampy’s water flowing again.

There are a number of levels and bonus levels. You can unlock bonus levels by collecting Swampy’s shower items while having fun in this true physics inspired water game – but realize, you’ll need to spend some time down in the sewers.

Even though it’s free, the latest version 1.1.0 adds 10 brand new free levels. Once you’ve mastered them all, you can get the full story complete with 140 levels by purchasing the full version of  “Where’s My Water?”, 1.3.6 at the App Store for only $0.99.

The app will run on virtually all iOS devices providing they are running Apple iOS 4.0 or later.

So the App Store has made it to 25 billion in less than 4 years. I wonder how long it’ll take to get to 50?
