Would you Tweet your weight?

Tweet your weight

French company Withings is definitely onto something with their smart, connected devices. From blood pressure monitors to body scales, these wifi enabled devices are taking healthly living to a whole new level. Withings received a lot of attention at CES by promoting the “tweeting” feature of their body scale, so we can’t help but ask — Would you tweet your weight to the world?

It works by simply standing on the sleek scale, which then sends your data directly to your tracking account on Withings.com, Twitter, Facebook, and other fitness websites that you may opt into. While this is useful for tracking your progress and seeing if that extra cookie really did make a difference, having your results broadcasted on the Internet have many fitness-buffs a little freaked out. Thankfully, the tweet feature is not enabled by default so your secret is safe unless you choose to share!

The scale is very precise and offers you information beyond a standard scale. With it you can see your fat mass, lean mass and total body mass index (BMI) to gauge your fitness. Plus, you can monitor the weight for up to 8 people in your family, which is especially fun for little kids who are growing quickly.

The scale starts at $159 US and comes with a free iPhone app so you can track your weight and progress on the go. If you want to be motivated by being publicly accountable then kick start your fitness routine today with the Withings Wifi Body Scale!

Nothing like shaming yourself publicly into getting fit.
