Square mobile payment system gets invoicing

Strolling through Old Strathcona last Saturday during Edmonton’s Whyte Avenue Art Walk 2014 I noticed something different this year.  More vendors were accepting payment by credit card – VISA, MasterCard, American Express – many through the magic of this micro-payment system called Square. It’s changed the way small businesses do their transactions. And now here in Canada, they’ve taken it one step farther with the introduction of invoices allowing complete secure payment transactions when not dealing face-to-face.

Apple’s holiday ad – extended footage and Edmonton connection

If you haven’t already checked out Julia Alexander’s post Apple’s new Christmas commercial will melt your heart, please visit there first, then come back and watch the video below for some extended footage.

Technically, it’s not really extended footage, but another video entitled  Apple – Holiday – A Harris family holiday, which appears to be the source of some of the excerpts the previous video Apple – Holiday – TV Ad  Misunderstood. However, in the event you haven’t seen it first, I won’t totally let the cat out of the bag.

Diehards return to the Apple Store for new iPhone 5S, 5C

A decent sized crowd lined up almost out the mall doors this morning at Edmonton’s Southgate Centre anxiously waiting in line to get in to the Apple Store and get their hands on the latest models of the iPhone – the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S.

Mini lineups for iPad mini but enthusiasts still arrive early

The lineup scene at the Apple Store at Edmonton’s Southgate Centre early this morning certainly looked nothing like days gone by, but still, some die-hards camped overnight to be one of the first to get Apple’s first 7” wonder.
