Is the BlackBerry Passport right for you?

So if you’ve seen the BlackBerry Passport, which launched back in September, the one thing that probably sticks out to you is the size.

An almost square device, the phone looks like it would be a monster to carry around. And, frankly, the demonstration that it was roughly the same size as a passport didn’t placate me as passports aren’t that small either.

At the launch, BlackBerry CEO John Chen and company showed that the Passport could easily fit in the inside pocket of a blazer. But I’m not a Bay Street businessman who wears a suit to work every day. I generally wear a golf shirt and pants and so it seemed that it would be considerably more uncomfortable to carry the Passport around.

Or at least, that’s what I thought. In fact, it fits reasonably well into the front pocket in my pants. Jeans could be an issue, but most men’s pants have big enough pockets.

Review: LG G3 smartphone

Released in North America on Aug. 1, the LG G3 is a lightweight, slim and sleek device that can satisfy even the most hardcore smartphone user. Taking its design cue from the LG G2, the G3′s only physical buttons (power and volume controls) are on the back of the device, leaving the front of the device almost entirely free for the touchscreen.

Review: HTC One (M8)

Another flagship phone from HTC with another derivative name. This HTC One, however, includes its development codename “M8″ in brackets after it so as not to be confused with the other Ones, One Xes and so on. (It is also referred to as the All New HTC One which will be become a rather outdated moniker in a year or so when HTC will undoubtedly release another One.)

But despite a similar name to its predecessors, the HTC One (M8) is a whole new phone.

LG Optimus G a powerful phone

A couple of months ago, I was given a sneak peek of the LG Optimus G, the first quad-core LTE cellphone available in Canada. And I was quite impressed. Now that I have had a chance to play around with one, my opinion is largely unchanged. It is easily one of the most powerful smartphones available on the market today.
