As Steve Jobs took the stage to kick off the opening keynote for the 2011 Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco, California, the capacity audience welcomed Apple’s CEO with a great roar of appreciation. And while some thought we might see a new or updated piece of hardware come about, Jobs, Phil Schiller, SVP Worldwide Product Marketing, Craig Federighi, VP OS X Software and Scott Forstall, SVP iOS Software, kept the audience extremely engaged talking strictly about software.
Apple turns 35 today
Apple turns 35 today. Yes, only 35 and that’s no April fools joke. The incredible and continuing journey began on April 1st, 1976 in of all places, Steve Jobs’ garage in Cupertino California. The actual corporation we know today as Apple Inc., was officially incorporated back in 1977 as Apple Computer Inc.
Jobs emerges unexpectedly, unveils iPad 2
It almost seemed anticlimactic. It was inevitable that the reason for the March Apple event was to unveil the highly anticipated Apple iPad 2. But the “one more thing,” a magical moment that we probably didn’t expect was that Apple CEO Steve Jobs himself would be doing the honours. And after a standing ovation and the roar of the crowd subsiding, Jobs proceeded to do just that and more.
