Want to keep your drink hot?

Coffee Joulies

When I wake up there’s only one thing on my mind – coffee. A hot, steaming mug of delicious java. The problem is it always cools off halfway during my commute and I lose that soothing warmth. Well, a couple of geniuses have come up with a brilliant thermodynamic solution to this age old problem – Coffee Joulies.

Coffee Joulies are coffee bean shaped stainless steel gadgets that contain a special material inside of them. The non-toxic beans absorb energy as they melt when they reach 60 degrees Celsius. They then cool and solidify, continuously releasing energy to keep your mug of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate warm twice as long. Check out the inventors demonstrating them:

The “beans” aren’t available for purchase yet but if you pledge $40 to their development on Kickstarter, you’ll receive a 20% discount off of the $50 retail price when they’re available.

Oh wow! This is seriously a great idea. I’m sitting here sipping my now cold cup of coffee and this really hit home! I think I might just go pledge to see these things developed. I hate microwaving my coffee half way through.

    I love this idea!
I’ll have to pledge the $40 tonight!

Great investment…give them $40 to get $10 off…I don’t think so….maybe for a free one when they are on the market…there has to be some incentive!

After years of having the same problem, I heard ( I don’t go there because I don’t like their coffee) that Starbucks mugs keep coffee hot for a long time….and they do…for $26.95!
