The Ottawa Public Library, like any other department at the city, is trying to find more ways to generate revenue.
So look out McDonald’s. The library is going after the birthday party market.
It’s going to be a pilot project starting in April, ending in March 2012, at the Greenboro, Orleans and Ruth E. Dickinson branches.
Party packages, aimed at children 4-8 years old, will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays for a maximum of 12 kids at $20 for each child. Parties of eight children or fewer will cost $175.
I guess libraries as sanctuaries of silence are things of the past!
