I may have posted this song before. I may post it again. None of that changes the fact that “Nothing matters but the weekend/From a Tuesday point of view.”

So the police are saying the shooting was “personal” and not “gang-motivated.” This, even though both the shooter and the victim apparently were in the same gang.

That sounds like some pretty fine parsing to me. I’m thinking if you’re in a gang, and you have a problem with a fellow gang member, that shooting the source of your problems seems like a reasonable thing to do.

People who aren’t in gangs, by contrast, don’t think that way.
