Knights parade

- May 29th, 2012

I wasn’t all that upset about the water-cannon salute that greeted the team when they landed Monday.

Yeah, the optics are really bad. I’ll grant you that. But the city’s water-emergency ended two days before and I gotta believe no lives were in jeopardy because the water was being used to greet the team as they landed, rather than being available to put out fires.

What gets my goat is the timing of the parade. Who schedules a parade for afternoon rush hour?

To me, that’s something to get worked up about. Why not have the parade in the evening? That way, less traffic would be blocked and presumably more people could come out to take part, since most Londoners work during the day.

Thoughts? If it’s worth doing, isn’t it worth doing right?

    Probably in the afternoon to work around Joe’s schedule. He sure likes a photo op.

    And why didn’t the operators of the JLC open up the place to watch the final? Not enough money in it for them?

    @Observer

    I agree with your thought about Joe. Busy guy.

    The JLC was already booked for something else. They probably could have made MORE money by turfing the play they had going on, but they stuck with their committments.

    And those kids won’t keep off my lawn!!! You sound like an older man. After all the bad press London has gotten in the last year (Rippers, Bananas throwing, Fanshawe Riot,etc) its nice to have something to feel good about.
