when I read the story today I wondered to myself if Kate was really on to something and whether or not the board is trying really hard to retain kids by putting more control over stories and making/not making decisions?
there seems, to me at least, there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye…but who knows
nflfan: I may have this wrong, but I believe there is legislation in the U.S. dictating that high-school games are on Fridays, college games on Sundays and NFL games on Sundays. Hence, the long-running tradition.
gary3456: No idea. It might be on the website, but just not in an obvious place. I don’t really have much to do with lfpress.com anymore, except for this blog and my columns.

hopefully she keeps digging
Same here, Dan- a total pissup…I can’t speak for students now but I cannot see much changing in the ten years since I’ve been there.
Stephanie: I guess some things never change!
When I grew up in St. Thomas, we never had those games. I do recall football games only as an excuse to get out of school early on a Friday.

Hey Dan
any reason why this story which was front page below the fold is not posted on the website?
it seems odd doesn’t it?

Could you explain your expression “piss-up” with a little more prose? Is this something one does during or after the event?
Yes thats the story however I could not see it off the main page
Perhaps I equated front page stories to front page of web site
It gave the impression that it was being buried
gary4567: The home page and the front page are very different things.
Yes Dan it appears so
A cynic could say more so when the RC board is involved but thank goodness I am not a cynic
