Left Says, “Ban Conservative Bloggers Read by Killer!”

- July 26th, 2011

I see that Naomi Klein is quoted in the Norwegian mass murderer’s manifesto. Using the logic of Klein’s friends, we should consider banning her work because it is read by mad loners who slaughter people. Oh, he also quotes Gandhi. Ban the chap’s writings. Charles Manson claimed to have been led by The Beatles to commit his ghastly murders. Again, according to left-wing logic, this should have led to the immediate silencing of Lennon and McCartney.

No! Not all Lennon-McCartney. But I think we could make an exception for Hello Goodbye. That was just pure Macca drivel.

Actually Lennon was silenced later. I’m not a fan of his naïveté.

… consider the anti-religion, collectivist, and group-think misanthropy of “Imagine”

Imagine there’s no Heaven … no hell below us, above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there’s no countries … nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

… I hope someday you’ll join us and the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions … a brotherhood of man … all the people sharing

… hope someday you’ll join us and the world will live as one

It is important for media outside of Norway to realize the radical politics within this country for the past few years. Many are trying to view the nation through the lens of Canada or America. They, like Sweden, and a growing number of European nations are not polarized like American.

There is a rapid jump to say he’s Liberal or very Republican on this side of the ocean. Such vague abstract terms fit nicely with our lazy right and left wing journalists.

If you are going to wade into the murky waters of Scandinavian politics you’re going to need your hip waders. We saw it in the lazy western reporting of Afghanistan. The nation is not ruled buy one type of people that are fighting another class of people. There are very rich deep divisions here that we are ignorant of.

I’ve favoured Michael Coren’s show for so long because he usually does not fall into the trap of the “rushed uneducated” journalist. Yes, their media is reporting things like Christian fundamentalist. Take note their media is a crazy mosaic unheard of in Canada or the USA.

Please avoid the trap of the idiot journalist that does only cursory research and quickly blames the left or right in a knee jerk reaction. If you’re not going to give the topic a deeper look stay out of the bog, you’re likely to drown!

What really have me worried is the increase and effect of censorship in the media as a result of the norwegian terror attack. Here in Sweden for example there is alot of stirring about how the big newspapers have to really control the debate and do more heavy screening/not allow a certain type of comments under their online articles. This I think is very, very dangerous as our media is already extremely homogenous in their presentation of issues. Without providing a full spectrum of analysations and ways for people to get their voices heard they are creating I fear a situation where people holding views that are for example negative towards Islam or current immigration policies will feel alot more shut out and marginalized. What this can lead to is not hard to figure out.

Just to give an example I translated a danish article I just read about controlling internet comments:
    http://translate.google.se/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=da&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.b.dk%2Fnationalt%2Fberlingske-strammer-op-paa-debatten

It might seem harmless enough but it really is a falling slope and anyone familiar with the danish mediaclimate knows it is very liberal and fair. The swedish one not so much and is like I said going to get alot worse once they implement harsher control. Censoring comments, not reporting immigration linked crime and riots(stonethrowing, fires and the like) will backfire. The truth always comes out and if it comes out through underground blogs tainted with frustration and “martyrcomplex” it is a recipe for trouble.

People are good, we must have faith in eachother. “Our ruling elite”(for a lack of a better word, don’t mean it in a conspiratorial way) shouldn’t view people as childrenlike intellectually that needs to be told constantly what to think.

Robert from Sweden would you like to immigrate to Canada? Your temperment is more of what we need.

  6. Sean says:

The left have so often accused the right of censorship with regards to certain books, pornography and the like but they never seem to look at themselves when they cry for complete censorship of any opposing opinion.

This is an excellent article by Caroline Glick…
