The Muslim Brotherhood has renounced violence and, we are told by the usual liberal media experts, is devoted to peace, love, hugging and the music of the Californian 1960s folk movement. That they murdered the Egyptian PM in the 40s, the President in the 80s, led a violent revolt in Syria, formed Hamas in Palestine and the Islamic Action Front in Jordan, and have called for an Islamic State throughout not only the Middle East but the entire world, where Christians and Jews (those allowed to live) would pay a head tax, in beside the point. Their crest proves that they are full of peace – look at the pretty colours.

I fear for Egypt, for the Middle East, and especially for Israel, if the Muslim Brotherhood slips (insidiously) into power in the Land of the Nile.
There is jubilation and celebration in Egypt right now (and amongst a naive leftist-liberal majority in the West), but what is going to happen when the euphoric party iws over?
…when the euphoric party is over? *
I saw a strange quote on the front page of today’s start from an Egyptian that went something like “Mubarak is gone! Problem is gone!”.
The only part of that that’s true is the first part. An economy won’t flourish without a strategy, and right now they don’t have one.
I am seeing a similar attitude amongst left-leaning people I know. They didn’t know the first thing about Egypt until this uprising began, and now they are adamant that Mubarak must go and it will solve all of the problems in Egypt. What are the grievances? What are the things that could be done but can’t because of Mubarak? They don’t know.
Some of them even compare the US to Egypt and hope for the same thing to happen in the US because, of course, people in the US are in just as poor shape economically. And they are completely serious, at least in their own mind.
Michael,
You haven’t changed a bit – still the underground bigot.
Well said! Steeve….
Still the same fishing only for Muslim imperfections no matter what even in front of many many positive news.
Hypocracy!!!
Steve and Pat,
Still trolling around on Michaels blog with your usual useless attacks.
Get a life you guys.
Pat, whats is this word `Hypocracy`you refer to.
Steve, nor have you changed…still the same screaming monkey swinging from tree to tree, your empty head, untroubled by the truth.
There’s lots of moderate Muslims that would heartily agree with Michael’s thumbnail sketch of the Muslim Brotherhood as he, and they, laugh at the gullible who think anything has changed with their totalitarian agenda.
And there’s a problem with those moderate Muslims, anyway.
First, they’re a minority amongst Muslims worldwide. Second, they’re the very group radical Muslims point to saying the world would indeed be a better place (prosperous, happy, pleasing to God) if Muslims weren’t wishy-washy like these moderates. Third, the Koran backs up the radical Muslims and upbraids the moderate ones. Fourth, when interpreting the Koran, when there appeared to be two admonitions or two sayings that contradict one another, the Muslim is to take as his rule the saying which occurs later in the book. All the calls for violence against non-Muslims, come from the sayings later, in the Koran.
Steven, it would be nice, if, when and if you come back—you bring with you an INFORMED opinion about the world of Islam~
Hey ArrowII…..I heard you was a fluffer. Is that true?
“Hey ArrowII…..I heard you was a fluffer. Is that true?”
And my comments await moderation?
Barbara hall will have her hands full when the islamists battle the PRIDE parade supporters because of the conflicting rights.
Keep in mind that Barbara Hall was once the Mayor that allowed the Child-Abuse in public when naked male adults were allowed to expose themselves in public and not be arrested for the crime.
It makes no sense for why PRIDE has gay mulims in the event and then allows the Pro-Hamas QuAIA group to alos be in it when hamas in gaza has no problem murdering gay in public.
Now…while I have been smeared by the pro-Child Abuse supporters they post here, I’d like to have them listen to NDP Cheri Dinovo interview on the John Oakley show where she repeats several times at the 10:50 min mark that Adults Rxposing Themselves To Children Is Already A Crime.
The show is about how men will be able to use womens washroom and showers to also be exposed to little girls or children in general. Cheri now confirms what I have said that mayor Miller and Barbara Hall have made choices for who get Rights and what Rights some people are granted.
If a NDPer like Cheri agrees with me and insists that the PRIDE nudity by males infront of children is illegal and should result in arrests, then please phone her to re-educate her that Child-abuse is OK if the sexual-preference and gender is Protected by the Charter Of Rights and the OHRC.
The only way to get Barbara hall to defend the children from the abuse is to lower the Voting age to 5 years old and this will force the Elections to defend Children and go after the perv’s and quasi-pedophilia display in public.
Listen to Cheri support my opinion where some people here have mocked because I was defending children and obey the UNICEF.CA Convention on Children’s Rights that canada signed onto.
*** Just look for the Audio with Cheri Dinovo in the title, but also play the other Pro Shariah law audio by Steve Rockwell the Imam that opines on a caliphate in canada one day and how minorities will have special rights.
http://www.640toronto.com/HostsandShows/JohnOakley/Audio.aspx
Call Cheri’s MPP Office to bash her for alleging that gay men in PRIDE are child abuser when they expose themselves to kids in public which she asserts is a crime and has been a crime for years. Cheri has even walked in the PRIDE event to endorse the abuse and never once demanded it end.
BTW
Jack and Olivia endorse it too and have yet to condemn it.
I am no fan of the brotherhood but they have said:
1- they will not field a candidate in the next presidential elections.
2- they are committed to having elections at regular intervals.
we should applaud there actions and not criticize them regardless of what they do and say, because it will appear that they are hated because they are Muslim.
@Steve Ramsey
Your applause comes to early, addressing your points:
1) The MB already has plans to become an active political party:
http://www.almasryalyoum.com/en/news/muslim-brotherhood-form-political-party-egypt
2) “elections at regular intervals”- you mean like Iran? How’s that working out?
I’m holding my applause for now, and not expecting to redden my hands doing so in regards to Egypt for a long, long time, if ever.
All this euphoria is premature. If the Muslim Brotherhood can claim support of 20% of legislators even when they are banned organization, imgine what will happen in a few years when they will freely peddle their kind of theocratic political ideas. Sooner or later they will be in power. The only hope is that in the meantime they change their ideology and truly become moderate. Possible? Very unlikely.
To Steven and Patrick…
…who proudly display their ignorance and narrow scope of their debating skills, here are a few quotes and facts about the MB, for which its mention by Michael has you screaming “racist/bigot” in the typical lefty ploy to shut down debate:
“The Muslim Brotherhood, which is the fountainhead of political Islam and has spawned 12 terrorist armies including al-Qaeda and Hamas is a political force in Egypt that is also willing to participate in elections and in the civil institutions of society.” – David Horowitz at CPAC (Feb 2011) (http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/02/david-horowitz-on-the-muslim-brotherhood-at-cpac.html)
“One of the Muslim Brotherhood’s principal children is the terrorist group Hamas, which identifies itself in its Charter as “one of the wings of the Muslim Brothers in Palestine. The Muslim Brotherhood Movement is a world organization, the largest Islamic Movement in the modern era. It is characterized by a profound understanding, by precise notions and by a complete comprehensiveness of all concepts of Islam in all domains of life: views and beliefs, politics and economics, education and society, jurisprudence and rule, indoctrination and teaching, the arts and publications, the hidden and the evident, and all the other domains of life.” – Robert Spencer (http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/articles/humanwearenotfighting.htm)
Fact: 85% of Egypt’s population being on record approving of the death penalty for apostates who leave Islam and believe that the death penalty for defectors from the faith is a form of democracy and religious freedom.
…so, who is practicing bigotry. The pro-Islamic ideological propaganda machinery, in all its incarnations – pretty colours and all – only fool those who know no better, or just make fools of the likes of Steven and Patrick.
Better to be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt, eh trolls?
Mr. Coren,
Since there are Canadians affiliated with the Brotherhood – namely James Clark – can we expect you to question him on his collaboration with them and why he openly supports them?
PS, please have a panel made up of people who know their stuff re MB so that he can be called out on the bullsh*t he spews. You did a great job a couple of weeks when you did a show on Afghanistan, having expert guests debate Clark and whoever his buddy was.
What needs to happen is someone with common sense needs to get into power who can help Egypt get back on its feet and eventually thrive. What they don’t need is some Koran, or bible thumper who is going to rule by some vague passage in a book. Someone who can tell them that the sun rises and sets because the world turns, not because their god puts it there.
Hey Mark Spark. Arrow II told me you are a crappy fluffer. Is that true? The Muslim Brotherhood need a crappy fluffer. You should call them.
I read an interesting comment today on the Foreign Policy Magazine, its predicting that the MB will be one of the losers. it basically said the MB got 20% of the vote in 2005 when it was the ONLY organized opposition to the Mubarak regime.
Mubarak and dictators like him in Arab countries are not the problem. They are only the symptoms. If you remove the symptom that does not mean that the problem is gone. So in the long it makes no differecne whether MB wins or loses. The problem is still there and it can resurface as MC, MD or who knows what.
Question for Mr.Coren; I know your new book comes out in March. Is there a particular release date? is it March 1st? or March 15th? I noticed on my Kindle e-reader that I can purchase your new book for half price $14.95 whereas in the stores it will be $30.00 I would love to download your new book on my e-reader for my holidays. It would be great reading material around the pool & where I will be most of the time at the swim-up.They usually call me the bar stool prophet.Great name for a band.Oh wait a minute; there was a band named that.
Methinks that the regime change is really not that much of a change.
“Their crest proves that they are full of peace – look at the pretty colours.”
Obviuosly a studious crowd. Two letter openers and a book about the virtues of tolerance.
What bothers me is the CAIE has been tied to Hamas and Hezballah, and yet Dr.Sheema Khan from CAIR had helped Maher Arar in his $400’000’000.00 Lawfare suit against us Tax payers for a alleged harm in his Homeland of Syria.
Nihad Awad from the uSA CAIR is opn a Video asserting CAIR supports for the Arar’s, the enquiry exposed maher’s gun permit he got just after the Montreal masacre by Gahmil Gharabi and that he had a 2nd home near a 9/11 Airport used to hijack a plane. He left his family back in canada while in Boston and then fled to Tunisia with them, he then fled the family again `to enter the USA at JFK airport but was caught.
Tunisia would not let him back for fear of an Asylum claim by his family becuase they fled North America to live with relatives, it was only JORDAN that allowed him back to meet his family to fly back to canada directly.
But his loving wife and kids never showed up in Jordan when he landed, Maher himself posted his 1st Lawfare suit for $25’000’000.000 against JORDAN on his website which was dated in late 2003, when it was tossed it was CAIR and Muhammed Elmasry from CIC that started (and gave evidence at the enquiry) the lawfare suit agaisnt canada in 2004.
His wife is of Palestinian background and a Orthodox Muslims that ran for the NDP MP seat in Ottawa, how odd that a anti-gay/anti-abortion/anti-feminist pro-Shariah Law person could run for the NDP when they tossed out a Christian female that would not support the same-gender marriage Bill.
CBC still runs to CAIR for the moderate view of Islam, but CAIR os tied to the Whahhabi sect in Saudi Arabia where they still behead about 50 poeple a year with not a word from the Left or Unions in canada.
Oh, Michael, you cheeky man. Don’t you know that the MSM are our moral and intellectual betters? Of course they know what they are talking about. Look at how accurate they have been with the economy, and global warming. They are prescient, really. I’d trust them
~
Does anyone know what the writing on the crest says? I’ve tried to find out but so far no luck.
to Elizabeth:
the writing says:
the Muslim Brothers/Brotherhood
be prepared
Thanks Thamir…..Seriously??
>The Muslim Brotherhood has renounced violence and, we are told by the usual liberal media experts,
Can you please provide specific examples of who has told you this?
Sassy,
james Clark is a loon but I dont think even he supports the Muslims Brothelhood – they are terrorists.
C’mon Michael, obviously the crest shows a pair of innocuous butter knives mounted near a copy of “Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone”. The writing, I’m told by a reliable source, exhorts children to brush their teeth before bedtime.
What a paranoid reactionary you are.
