For decades in Britain, black and Asian gang culture has been allowed to develop and triumph in the school system. Teachers and social workers are either too physically frightened or too politically correct to intervene, and an increasingly ineffectual police force is tied by “anti-racism” policies to stop the horror. The racism of lowered expectations has led fatuous, liberal, white people to argue that gang culture is somehow part of the black and brown experience, with most of the victims of course being other black and brown people.
In fact this sub-culture despises women, gays, the weak, and anybody who stands in its way. It has no respect for anybody and anything, and is obsessed with promiscuity, violence, and cheap greed. Idiot politicians have done little, because they can afford to live in areas usually untouched by the violence and anarchy.
Added to this is a generation of young, white people who try to replicate the black sub-culture, who increasingly are the children of broken families, with state-dependant mothers smothered in make-up, giving their ugly bodies to pretty much anybody. They have rejected education and authority, and survive on cheap lager, all-night partying, and the influence of awful, reality television, and tabloid sensationalism.
The wealthy play in the mud of all this, and give us entertainment that instead of trying to take us higher, pushes us even lower. Assumptions decline, standards drop, the former dignity of the working class evaporates in a miasma of imported slang, state dependency, single-parenthood, and binge-drinking. The riots were inevitable.

What you just wrote, to a lesser extent, can be said about North American society. Time to bring in the troops and declare martial law (in England, that is).

There will always be those who try to make this a discussion of capitalism versus socialism and how the differing approaches affect the working class. But as your comment describes, this is really about culture and personal choices.

Hmmm…..I find your comments about teachers very exact. School board officials higher up who aren’t in classrooms make all these hideous PC policies and offer no support for classroom discipline. Teachers are not made to reflect on the lasting ethical problems of leaving machismo unchallenged. The TDSB and Muslim prayers being a good example of this kind of thing.

I’ve many Indian friends who have less warm feelings about what the British gave their country. But I often reply, “without colonial British rule, we would never have had Gandhi-ji”.
And note I used the play on words :poetic injustice. What is happening in London is not just or good by any one’s yardstick.
Also part of the problem of the “browning of England” stems from her role as an empire, like Rome. Empires usually become that which they conquer.
And, by the way, it’s not just immigrant Brit youths who love to riot. Just ask FIFA.

Since the dawn of the industrial revolution, the British have adopted a culture of resentment and envy of private property. (My mother among them.) The latest Greek-style riots are just a small manifestation of what will follow. It has been fostered and fed by modern political elites of the liberal/left persuasion (that’s all politicians except Thatcherites). They have plundered the wealth of others by the taxing of income and capital, and from the proceeds granted entitlements in exchange for votes, favours and dependancy. More so than ever, a few pay the tab for the many.
Listen well Stephen Harper. If you fail to tell Canadian frankly that the free lunch is over, and you fail to start talking about the need for Canadians to take responsibility for their own lives and well being, then someone else will and you will become irrelevant.
I used to believe in Michael Coren because of his stance against gays but then I found he’s just being an abstinent Anglo and promoting his race against non-abstinent races. His morality is all for his race’s Kingdom on Earth, not the Kingdom of God.

It is being said that these riots are being engineered by the use of social media. So why don’t the police send out a tweet to the EDL and all the soccor hoodlums and advise that there will not be any police presence in a certain area at a certain hour. Have fun boys.
What pisses me off is that because the actions of this group is of a kind that is repellant and base, people automatically want to ignore the thought that their conditions have in some way played a part in their behaviour, or – even worse – that politics and economics in some way is extremely influential in these people’s lives and partially responsible for these outbursts that have happened. I mean, yeah, this is nasty stuff commited by some of the worst people, but if their whole life has been a sh***y mess with poor education, poor provision, poverty, and there’s no prospects of change then it’s no surprise that these people are out looting everything they can.
I noticed today how Global News reported todays rioting. The reporter said Violence broke out after police shot dead a “young father of four”. As if these were the only traits this gang member was known for.

These people are the state dependant under class. They are as you describe.
The disease has spread to the white community. The reason for this is that white culture, history, sense of natuion and community has been systematically derided and expunged. To declare oneself English is to be branded racist.
Now white youth looks around for a “respected” culture – they see black culture.
That culture has been promoted, given respect, dignified and is impervious to criticism – again, it you will be called racist if you decry it.
Now around me I hear young white people talking like black Gangstas, wearing their trousers down their legs, adopting their mannerisms.
As a child in the 50′s and 60′s we were proud of our nation and culture. My working class parents, like most, were aspirational. They encouraged me to go to a grammar school, church and take up hobbies and pastimes. i. like may working class kids are now professionally qualified and have moved onwards and upwards. Comprehensive education kicked the ladder away for the generations that followed.
Now I drive up my old streets and see feral gangs where once smartly turned out children played, derelict spaces where once were roundabouts and swings, litter and unkempt gardens which once sported rose bushes and neat lawns.
Any chance of a pass to migrate to Canada?

For all the talk of christian charity, you conservative christians are pretty poor at looking at a situation from different points of view or examining its root social/political/economic causes. Not that I support the rioters in anyway, just that condemnation is the easy answer to a complex question, try understanding the problem if you want to see any real change. I mean, its not like these people existed in a vacuum and one day a fork in the path rose up, one path leading to “proper” accepted citizenship and the other to the shi**y life they have now on the margins. They made bad choices, but there wasn’t one defining moment in which they chose delinquency, and these choices were (and are) heavily influenced by their social and economic factors. I mean what are you supposed to do when society has shut you out and you pretty much live a hopeless life of poverty with no life at the end of the tunnel? Not every one has the economic luxury of being able to be a good christian and looking forward to the next life.

My father was the son of immigrants, they lived in a tiny apartment/flat in Tottenham and Hackney. They were poor, with no state support at all. I doubt I ever has as much wealth as you, and being a Jew in the 1950s my dad was also denied certain jobs. It’s clumsily racist and extremely patrician of you to believe that because you are black, brown, or poor you cannot behave in a civilized manner, or make a life for yourself. Shame on you. As for the remark about Christians – sorry, but spoken like a white, westerner. There are plenty of “good Christians” in Totteneham, as well as the other smashed areas in the UK. Churches abound, full of poor, proud, black people. A lot of suburban racism in your comments. “Let the poor and people of colour suffer, as long I can pretend to care and bash religion and conservatives.” Oh, and the largest growth of Christianity is in Africa and Asia.
What it comes down to is that the youths in the western nations of today are a bunch of spoiled brats. All their lives they have been informed exactly how special and fantastic they are, what society owes them and how it is their right to have this that and the other. Just like Michael Coren points out they are a product of a failed education system and media climate.
Also another important factor is political correctness gone wild. In school kids are told how awful and horrible the west is and what atrocities “we” did. They are raised to feel contempt for their own countries and cultures.
And finally when it comes to poverty and perceived social injusticies, acting like a barbarian on a rampage is hardly a productive and sane response.
I grew up in a single household during the 80:s with an alcholised mother who couldn’t even in a country like Sweden handle our economy. I didn’t have shiny toys or holiday vacation trips and in school I was the object of alot of teasing. Also got beat up alot, both home and in school. What did I do? I shut my mouth, grinded my teeth and trucked on. There is no excuse for writhing in selfpity, everyone just got themselves to blame if they don’t try and better themselves.
Now, I am not writing this to proclaim how special I am or tell a teardropping story about my upbringing. All in all I could have had it alot worse, ALOT worse. It was not like I was living in some third world hellhole. My point is simply that people must be held responsible for their actions. I get furious when I see so called experts proclaiming how “kids don’t have anything to do”, “it’s society’s fault” and because of our lack of providing activities for these imaginative lacking youngsters we must expect they will resort to burning and destroying. It is just sickening.
Might be obvious but I get furious writing about these things, my blood boils. These spoiled brats don’t know how good they have it. If it is anything they need it’s perspective. How about starting to indoctrinate that into them instead of junk reality shows?

When your show starts up can you do us a favour by exposing these rioters for what they really are and not just as victims as the rest of the media does.
For starters I would like to see continued coverage of the Vancouver riots (it’s not old news) with respect to the individuals who took part. For instance, every night as new rioters have been identified, they can be profiled on your show, with names, faces etc revealed.Statements that they have made and perhaps even sending a camera crew to ambush them, at their workplace or elsewhere.Much as the media would do when they ambush a CEO who was charged with defrauding a company.
Even if the justice system won’t prevent these looters and rioter there’s nothing stopping the media from doing it’s own justice by at least trying to shame them.
If you have come to believe that your life is pointless, that opportunity has passed you by, that you are stuck in a class systsem that suppresses you from birth and you are taught that violence is the answer to eveything – as displayed by our leaders with their incessant need for wars and slaughter – in our advertizing with it’s XXX motiefs and living on the edge tropes – and a public discourse that is nothing but slogans and venom – and a social dogma the extolls the virtues of a ruthless bottomline, corporate raiding and unlimited corporate greed (oh so socialist) – riots are inevitable. The rage has to go somewhere, be released some how. I get most of the post and can see the wisdom in it but I’m confused by the use of “ugly” or how “imported slang” would contribute to any of this. State Dependency and substance abuse are surely major culprits. I worry that more and more people see cruelty and selfishness as virtues. At least there have been few fatalities, probably less than on the South
Side of Chicago or South Central Los Angeles.

Thank you for posting that link, it was indeed a brilliant article that goes into great detail as to the true causes of the UK riots. It is eeriely remeniscent of what I read in the book “The Abolition of Britain” by Peter Hitchens (yes, brother to the celebrity God-hater, Christopher Hitchens). He basically predicted that this would happen in his chronicle of the 60-year long decline of Great Britain! The book was written over ten years ago and has now become almost prophetic!
I fail to understand, Michael, why you have chosen to include “Asian” gangs as a material factor in these riots. I just read Asian MP Keith Vaz’s statement that NOT A SINGLE (SOUTH) ASIAN HAS BEEN AMONG THOSE ARRESTED FOR RIOTING,of the 1300 picked up so far. Indeed, many of those attacked by the exclusively black and white rioters were (South) Asian.
You have often said, very correctly, on your CTS program that the South ASian community, except Muslims, have been an exemplary immigrant community in Britain, (as in Canada), and is an asset to the country. As we are to Canada.
Despite this, we remain a reviled community in both countries, as every single study done on race relations in this country (Canada) has found. Throughout the world where South Asians have immigrated, we have been the ideal immigrants, achieving dispropotionately high levels of educational accomplishment, disproportionately high numbers ofdoctors,lawyers,accountants,engineers,entrepreneurs,millionaires,journalists, academics etc. conjunctively with almost non-existent levels of criminality,drug use/peddling,teenage pregnancies and broken marriages and families.
Yet no one ever speaks or writes about this in the white media, and we remain a community treated with dismissive contempt as a people unworthy of respect! Your unmerited and factually baseless linkage of South Asian gangs to the scum who are burning Britain is a case in point.
The riots were inevitable. These were not the first nor, sadly to say, will they be the last. With so many people living on the edge – so much poverty and despair, it should come as no surprise when the pressure and frustration of living in such volatile conditions explodes into rage and violence. It just takes a trigger and it seems one comes along all too often. When did the ability to reason get weaned from the human gene pool? I believe we can still listen and reason together but there must be mutual respect for one another for that conversation to start. We are born with a sense to innately know right from wrong. Moral corruption does not happen overnight. It is like a small seed that grows into a monster and if we do nothing to stop it we will eventually be swallowed up in its ugliness.
