Suns at Raptors Points Per Game:

- December 1st, 2012

A win! Finally. That’s a big relief for the Raptors, considering a six-game losing streak quickly could have swelled to a 10-gamer had Phoenix stolen the game on Friday (sure Sacramento and Portland aren’t good, but they still will be at home).

As I said in the gamer, that was a really good, all-around team effort. Everyone who got in (10 in all) contributed in some way. Amir Johnson probably helped the most, but Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan did great work on the boards and Andrea Bargani stunningly played great defence on thee straight possessions down the stretch.

Some thoughts:

- If Bargnani couldn’t do the things he can do, he wouldn’t be infuriating and I wouldn’t be on him so much. He clearly has the talent, just not the consistent commitment. : “I was trying to make myself useful on defence.” Indeed. And as Casey said, referring specifically to Bargnani and Lowry: “There are other ways you can impact the game besides putting the ball in the hole.”

-No Steve Nash and presto, Toronto finally beat Phoenix at home for the first time since 2004.

- Lowry looked more fluid on offence and seemed to get to the rim easier, but still struggled defensively, particularly against the pick and roll. Yes, Gortat and Dragic are fantastic at the pick and roll, but Lowry still struggled more than he would have if he wasn’t returning from injury.
