Raptors at New Orleans Hornets Points Per Game

- March 1st, 2012

- Nice bounce-back game from the Raptors. Some of the underperformers in Houston, namely Jose Calderon, Linas Kleiza, Amir Johnson and Jerryd Bayless all were key contributors in the win. Johnson looked better than he has in weeks. He was extremely active, covered a ton of ground and made many big plays, particularly defensively.

- I like the way the coaching staff and DeMar DeRozan handled Tweetgate. The disciplining was done in private, DeRozan quickly realized he had made a mistake out of frustration. It wasn’t a big deal, and it was dealt with well by all involved.

- Bayless isn’t a distributor by nature, but is at his best when he tones down the get mine game a bit and spreads the ball around. He might not have done that any better than he did against the Hornets.

- The Hornets desperately need Eric Gordon back. Getting a reliable 20 point scorer back who can also get good shots for his teammates will be huge. Getting Emeka Okafor and Carl Landry back won’t hurt either.

- Dwane Casey went a little small for a lot of the game and said afterwards he had to sacrifice something to get something, likely meaning sacrificing the boards (the Raptors were heavily outrebounded) in order to be quicker and more active than New Orleans.

- As would be expected, the dressing room was a far happier place compared to after the loss in Houston.

- We are petitioning the league to have the Hornets moved to the East so we can come to New Orleans more often.
