This is probably the best sartorial event I’ve witnessed since I moved to New York. I literally stepped in the ’20s by going to Governors Island this weekend for the Jazz Age Lawn Party (the ferry from South Street Seaport is free and runs every 30 minutes). The ladies were gorgeous and the gents, in their Gatsby-inspired outfits, dapper. Everything was vintage, from the pie contest, to the cocktails. Some fellows even played horesehoe-throwing. Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra made my day. Watch below, I hope you can feel the energy who heated up this dance floor under the trees.
