As part of their “Washington Monument” strategy to maximize the pain from the sequester, the Obama Administration has now cancelled tours of the White House, pleading a shortage of Secret Service personnel. In response, Texas Republican Congressman Louis Gohmert proposed an amendment to an upcoming Continuing Resolution to keep the government funded saying none of the spending it authorizes can be used “to transport the President to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume.”

Touché, surely.

    Be fair. Every President for decades has played golf, this one no more than any other. Presidential golfing and “vacations” are easy and cheap targets.
