This is the statement released by the Board of Internal Economy after meeting with Gilles Duceppe earlier today:
Mr. Gilles Duceppe, former leader of the Bloc Québécois, met with the Board of Internal Economy today regarding media reports related to the alleged misuse of House of Commons funds allocated to him in previous Parliaments. The Board thanks Mr. Duceppe for attending the meeting.
As a result of his appearance and information provided, many additional questions have been raised. The Board will be continuing and expanding its review of the matter.
No further comments will be made at this time.
