When the CRTC ruled against Bell’s attempted take-over of Astral Media, the NDP was very supportive. The New Democrats hailed the broadcast regulator’s decision as one that supports diversity in the media. Asked whether the idea of more channels and more voices are generally a good idea in media, the NDP’s Françoise Boivin agreed heartily and without reservation. The host of Byline on Sun News, Brian Lilley, took time on his show this week to talk about the issue and includes the comments Boivin made about media diversity last October. They come about 3 1/2 minutes into Lilley’s monologue. Enjoy.
So, does the NDP believe Sun News Network should get the same advantage given to CBC’s and CTV’s all-news outfits – being put on basic cable coast-to-coast through a “mandatory distribution” licence?

i suspect they will change their tune this time. They won’t like the truth about CBC coming out; directness of truthful news articles; and interviews that expose their untruthfullness. Just my opinion for what it is worth.

Why shouls we want to give Ezra Irre Levant a bigger soap box, not to mention the rest of the Sun News Network cast of clowns.
With respect, I think you missed Boivin’s point.
It sounds childish to say that the NDP supports SNN. So what do you expect from them. Are they suddenly going to influence the CTRC in your behalf without no strings attached.
