Texting and Driving – Reader Topic – Bob

- March 8th, 2010

looks like people appreciate the opportunity to start some dialogue – here’s a topic I wouldn’t have thought to include in my blog, but now will open it up and make my own comment on the issue!

Was in London Saturday and came across something that pretty much baffled me. cops had a speedtrap on Highbury, just north of Hamilton rd. Guy ahead of me got nailed and we were only doing 60km/hr in a 50, but heres the part that baffled me, both lanes got backed up, because a lady in the one lane got confused when the cop walked out into traffic so we all had a few minutes to get things rolling again but while I was sitting there waiting for my turn and my wife and I were looking for our opening to get over and we noticed that almost half of other drivers were on the phone, one young lady driving was texting and the cops were nailing people for 10km over. Thought there was a cell phone law? wouldnt it generate more revenue for their new cars going into storage faster than a 10kph over ticket? – Bob
