Doug Ford sorry for calling reporters “pricks”

- September 24th, 2012

--From Remote-- (5- _AP28202 Meeting of the City of Toronto Budget Committee on Monday Sept 24

Councillor Doug Ford called reporters at City Hall a “bunch of pricks” Monday.

A few hours later, Ford apologized for the remark. Here’s a rundown of what he just told me on the phone:

“My comments were made in the heat of the moment and out of frustration.

“I didn’t mean to offend anyone.”

“Instead of constantly focusing on stories that do nothing to advance the interest of Toronto residents, I just wish that in the future City Hall media would concentrate on some of the many positive accomplishments with respect to economic development, city building, the city’s budget and labour that are happening at City Hall every day.”

Sorry, Doug. This isn’t a nation where you get to control the narrative.

Sorry for calling them pricks, or sorry that they HEARD him calling them pricks?

Should reporters ignore stories that are critical of the administration? Should they only report on kittens and football?

Here is some “interesting news” one never appears to hear or read about, yet this is on going…….
http://www.waterwarcrimes.com and NAFTA Super Highways which appears to be future “toll highways”.
Why is this never in the news?

Let’s attempt to be mature, rather than losing focus of the progress Toronto has made. McGuinty
is always in the news, but continued scandals of his government are not. (Meaning front page and in your face.) Are we than to assume this squabble of knit picking on the municipal level has to do with the “majority” sitting on Council? Certainly, there is always “jealousy” involved when one is successful. Is that where the underlying problem comes from? Just as when one win’s the “Lottery” then everyone knows your name and requires money. One becomes the most popular individual around. Journalist’s are like “hound dogs”, they don’t bark, but they do hound individual’s to get a piece of the news(tail).

What is the mayor’s brother doing on city council??? How convenient is this crap? Looking at the pic above, Dougeeeee looks like a frickin’ mobster!!! Just because Rob Ford is mayor, what gives him the right to bring his loose-tongued, hot-headed brother in and give him a high paying councillor job???

Reporters are pricks. And without morals. Remember Jan Wong and her despicable behaviour that got her fired from the Globe and Mail?

  7. Jimmy says:

So what! He was just being honest and saying out loud what most people who have to deal with reporters every day really think.
