Quote of the Day: Adam Vaughan on bullet bans

- June 13th, 2012

toronto sun---From Remote-- 7TORGunsQP14 Today, Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Toronto and

“There is no need to go hunting in Toronto. There are no raccoons that big that require you to have an armed rifle at the back by the garbage can. There are no gophers chewing at people’s gardens that need to be shot because tractors are going to lose a wheel. And the last time I checked, I didn’t see any grizzlies at the garbage dump down the road.”

This “bullet ban”, is as nonsensical as a criminal records check at $25.00 a pop….where does the
$25.00 per person for this criminal check end up? Who receives this large amount of money?? Why do we still have criminals in our Society when this futile excercise is so useless?
Why dosen’t Vaughan, talk about an invention of an alternative for a cleaner way to pick up “dog poop” on the streets? Banning bullets, one might as well ban dogs from the city of Toronto……simply
is not going to happen…..my question to councillors at city hall is……when are they going to stop “socializing” on the taxpayers dime and get some real business results done……for instance running the cities business agenda? Banning bullets….get a reality check.

Vaughan is just using a cliched subjective biased opinion to justify a rather pathetic attempt to get his name in the papers. The idea is half-baked and makes no sense from any angle:

1.Criminals don’t buy their bullets or guns in Toronto.
2.They also don’t go apply for a firearm license like law abiding citizens do
3.The concealable weapons like handguns that criminals use are prohibited. Hunters cannot own them, and therefore hunters are not the problem.
4.The gun crimes in T.O. don’t involve hunter weapons. When was the last time you heard of a criminal walking around the city with a rifle tucked into his pants?
5.The bullets that hunters use in rifles do not fit in the criminal’s weapon of choice.
6.The criminal is already breaking the law by illegally obtaining a handgun. Do you think another law is going to matter???

Let’s say this career politician manages to sensationalize this to the point where people jump on the band wagon and this ban on bullets joke becomes a reality.

Will violent crime stop? No. Criminals are just that. They don’t respect the law.

And then what’s next, a ban on knives in Toronto? They are a far more dangerous weapon. Ask any trained police officer or a martial arts expert or ER doctor, and they’ll tell you that. And criminals don’t need to reload their knife.

There is far more knife violence out there. Just pick up any daily newspaper for a week, you’ll see the trend. And you don’t need to go through a criminal background check, apply for a license, and register yourself with authorities, lock your knives in a gun safe. Just reach into your kitchen drawer and you’ll see how this farce is clearly not aimed at public safety. It’s just aimed at getting some media attention and using a seat in public office to manipulate us into agreeing with his uneducated, subjective opinion.

    Get your facts straight Vaughan!

  4. Brian says:

No slimy left wing loony politician would ever let a supposed crisis like this go to waste. Especially a closet communist with an agenda. Mr Vaughan I suggest you perhaps move to China and enjoy your company over green tea. He is a wannabe dictator who really stands for nothing but perhaps making government bigger and increasing taxes to pay for the people who will make all freedom loving people miserable. He wants diminished freedom and more bureaucracy paid for by us serfs who don’t belong in his supposedly elite status. He stands for big government and public service sector unions at the demise of us all.
