When Quotes Attack: Councillor Vaughan on Mayor Ford

- July 4th, 2012

“If it’s not which streetcar door the mayor drove by it is whether or not the mayor has been partying in the Entertainment District. When it’s not whether he’s been partying in the Entertainment District, it’s whether he’s been picking up liquor on Dundas St. When it’s not that, it’s whether or not he’s gone off to the cottage instead of attending Pride.

“Very little of what you talk about when you’re talking about this mayor has anything to do with work at City Hall and as a result his approval ratings are dropping.

“He’s not doing anything here, in fact he’s doing very little, he barely even shows up for work.”

- Councillor Adam Vaughan on Tuesday after Mayor Rob Ford outlined his version of events on his much-reported run-in with a TTC streetcar driver

Cannot waste valuable “ink” on this “hot air balloon!!” Not even email comment!

  2. James Smythe says:

You are right! Pompous little people like Adam are quite light on substance.

  3. ej chateauvert says:

adam vaughn is a disgusting sleeze ball of a politician . rob ford does more work in one day than vaughn does in a month . every time i hear his creepy voice my skin crawls

  4. Matt says:

It seems to me that this lil leftie isn’t doing work either.. seems like he’s gossiping about Mayor Ford.

  5. Stephen says:

Sounds to me like everyone who just commented is the same person. What Mr. Vaughn is saying is absolutely true; Rob Ford is an absolute embarrassment as Mayor.

It appears that I am not the only one who thinks in this manner. You must realize Stephen there is more than you and I commenting here, just as there is more than two individuals in the whole city of Toronto…..
Just as there are individual’s that think about the future generations and not for their own self serving interests Stephen…….councillor’s should be more constructive in their comments for the best interest of the future, rather than being like children in a sandbox because they are striving
    for attention.

  7. Jack Asad says:

Adam Vaughn will hopefully go the way of Josh Matlow i.e. off the radar….this indivdual loves to hear himself talk and he has already put his foot in his mouth about banning bullets. He is like the weasel everyone had in their classroom. He will not run for Mayor because he and the other councillors do not have the guts to leave their cushy positions and chance running for mayor. If they lost the mayor race then what would they do for a living.

  8. Canadian_National says:

Vaughan’s snarky, sure – but he could be right. Anyway, Rob and the gang have done a lot of mud slinging, unfounded accusing and name calling, so something this entertaining should be expected.

The mayor won’t release his itinerary except when it’s pried out of his office by freedom of information requests. So no one knows what he’s up to. Generally the signs are pointing to a Mayor who’s coming in at twelve noon, and disappearing most of the time thereafter. Maybe true, maybe not. If he’d just release his itinerary, it might clear up some of these misunderstandings.

  9. Sigmond says:

Adam vaughn is a jackass of the highest order. So are the people who voted for him.

  10. Wilma de Bruyn says:

Some Councillors wish they were the Mayor of Toronto,…….but due to the structure of City politics
there is only “one position” available. When being a Mayor of the City as large as Toronto……the “Mayor” is the one that receives “all the attention”; forturnately, or unfortunately, that is the way it is
and always has been. If Councillor Vaughn wishes the same “attention”, than I “challenge him to run for the position as MAYOR”. Apparently, even if Councillor Vaughn could hear the Mayor “pass gas”, some councillor’s would complain about that…….if Councillor Vaughn wants to be under the microscope……run for Mayor!! Perhaps this “gas” would assist Vaughn in “lifting off the ground” in the helium balloon……

  11. Chandra says:

I think Vaughan has too much time on his hand for mud slinging with his useless verbiage. To me it shows that he has little work to do! He also has an attitude problem as a councilor. I hate to think he was once a news reporter and now he has come down to this.

I feel sorry for you Adam!

Do something constructive for a change. do your job!

  12. wsiser says:

    vaughan idiot

  13. jsmut says:

    Absentee councillor, absentee mayor

  14. truth says:

Ford’s not the mayor. That ended a long time ago. First he proved he was way over his head, and now it is obvious that he’s not even working. Those of you who voted for him should be ashamed; at least swallow your pride and admit that you made a mistake. It’s so obvious. The pro-comments here are like ” the sky is green; what slander to say the sky is blue.” Truth is not gossip.WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM HERE PEOPLE A MAYOR WHO IS INCOMPETENT AND IS LAZY THE CITY IS SUFFERING THERE’S NO POINT IN DEFENDING THE IDJIT

  15. Paul/Toronto says:

Vaughan is right. Ford is an embarrassment as a Mayor and he has the right to point it out.

  16. Wilma de Bruyn says:

It’s a sad situation when Councillor Vaughn and commentors feel the Mayor is an embarrassment
to the “City of Toronto”. But the sad part is……that the Councillor’s think they can do a better “job”
than Mayor Ford, step up to the “PLATE” in the next election and run for Mayor, than we can analyze that individual and put him/her under the microscope as well. Until then, the better suggestion is….put your nose to the grindstone and look after your own constituents. It’s always easier to criticize than having constructive “Council” meetings. It’s easier to spend…spend….spend than to pull in the reins of spending. Ask yourself……would you like to be like Greece for the next generation?
