Jets face Predators in third meeting

- November 8th, 2013

Evander Kane had much of the spotlight to himself this morning on a day the focus should have been on the Winnipeg Jets.

Kane could have easily met the first question with a simple: “I felt like I could play but realize the coaching staff and medical staff was looking out for me” and then the “Health scratch gate” would have simply disappeared.

Instead, Kane insisted he was a healthy scratch the other night and basically didn’t understand why he was held out of Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Jets head coach Claude Noel reiterated the only reason he held out Kane was for health reasons, clearly taking the high road.

Kane is pointing his FU Attitude in the wrong direction in my humble opinion, but I’m guessing he’ll be ready to go tonight.

But will it be a goal-filled return to the lineup after missing the past two with a lower-body issue or will it be a penalty parade instead?

Kane’s return means Anthony Peluso takes a seat. I thought Zach Redmond might replace Adam Pardy (not because of the helmet grab and beer-spilling incident) but Jets head coach Claude Noel is keeping the same six D together.

Also wondered if Dustin Byfuglien might return to a pairing with Toby Enstrom after enduring some tough times of late but the pairs remain the same.

The Predators are hot of late, winning games over the Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche. The occasionally low-scoring bunch have been denting the twine with regularity of late and will attempt to beat the Jets for the third time this season.

Carter Hutton starts in goal for the Predators and said he has some friends and family members in attendance once again.

I made my second appearance on the TSN Jets pre-game show so tune in around 6:50 pm to see the In the Box segment.
