Just ask Valerie Orsoni, a San Francisco-based fitness expert.
Washing dishes by hand will burn 78 calories per half hour, she says.
Knowing that a pound is about 3,500 calories, and assuming you will wash dishes for half an hour every day, then over 45 days, you will have lost one pound without knowing it (in a year, this amounts to about eight pounds!).

I think I will try to burn those 78 calories another way and save my hands from getting dishpan hands lol.
