The family that eats together, stays together.
But what if you’re having trouble getting your kids to the table?
Turn OFF the oven and turn ON the grill, says Paul Monger, CEO of Clancy’s Meat Co., and father of two.
But first, sink your teeth into the following press release:
According to a recent consumer report, more than half of Canadian households own a BBQ and with kids out of school and fewer recitals and soccer practices to get to, there is more time to enjoy meals together as a family.
Unfortunately, statistics show that less than 50% of families eat together regularly – making it obvious that parents are in need of both inspiration and new ingredients. So how can already harried parents make a family dinner more fun? According to CEO of Clancy’s Meat Co. and father of two, Paul Monger, it can be as simple as taking it outdoors. Swapping mealtimes at the kitchen table with an outdoor picnic, barbecue or cookout, is an easy way to get the whole family eating together this summer.
“At our house, any mention of eating outside gets the kids more excited for mealtimes. Kid-friendly finger foods are also a big hit so we’ve developed products that are kid-friendly but also healthy and quick for busy parents to cook up,” Monger said.
Monger suggests the following kid-tested summer BBQ fare:
• Mini burger sliders make perfect kid-sized burgers.
• Stuffed veggies like mushroom caps, zucchini and tomatoes are a great way to dress up veggies and get kids to eat their greens.
