Strength moves for your long lean legs

Twisting squat (works total body) — This exercise will help sculpt your entire body. This move works your arms, core, legs, and butt. To begin, stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a 5- to 10-pound dumbbell in each hand, elbows bent 90 degrees, with palms facing forward. Keeping chest up, squat down. As you lift back up through glutes, twist body to the left, allowing feet to pivot so that right heel lifts off the floor. At the same time, press dumbbells overhead. Return to start. Switch sides and repeat. Begin with 12-15 reps, each side. Begin with one set and work your way up to 3 sets.

Pelvic tilt — For that tight firm butt that will look good in anything on the red carpet try this simple move. Begin by lying face up on floor, knees bent, ankles under knees, tilt hips up, keeping butt on floor and flattening spine. Hold for a few seconds return to starting position. Do 2-3 sets of 25.

Squats — are one of the best exercises you can do to tone your hips, butt and thighs. This exercise, like the lunge, burns fat and helps build muscle in your legs by using your body weight as resistance to the force of gravity. To begin, stand with feet hip-width apart and bend the knees, and lower into a squat, keeping the knees behind the toes. Imagine that you’re sticking your butt out behind you, but keep the torso upright and contracted. Press into the heels to stand up. Repeat for 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps

One legged deadlifts  — are great for moves to make your hamstrings and butt and butt look leaner. To do this, take left leg back just a bit, lightly resting on the toe. With the weight in front of the thighs, tip from the hips and lower as low as your flexibility allows. Keep your back flat or with a natural arch and make sure you keep the abs contracted to protect the back. Squeeze the glutes of the working leg and raise back up. Do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps.

Reverse lunges —  Stand with feet hip-distance apart. Step back 3-4 feet with your right leg and land on the ball of your right foot off of the bosu or power plate. Repeat for 2-3 sets of 12-15.

Step-ups with a kick back — Stand facing a set of stairs or an elevated platform. Step onto the platform with your right foot. Keep your right foot on the stair and lift your other foot to touch the step quickly, extend your left leg back, squeezing your butt before returning to the starting position with both feet on the floor. Repeat until you have performed 25 repetitions with each leg.
